How to avoid burnouts during your CAT preparation journey




It is very common to feel exhausted, tired, and fatigued during any course of repetitive activity. CAT prep is a long journey and these overwhelming feelings are bound to happen. “A stitch in time saves nine” may seem just like an outflow of ideas however these strategies only impede the consequences that affect adversely. In this complete cycle of preparation journey there are x no. of factors which leads to several fluctuations of dopamine like screen time (most negligible) leads to severe headpain, sedentary routine and empirical reflections(MOCK SCORES ☠️). 


 
How to reduce burnouts during CAT preparation :



Mitigating Burnout Strategies: 


A sound mind lives in a sound body …

  1. Healthy routine (I know it's a lie ……😃); Following traditional yogic routines seems next to impossible during this CAT preparation journey however Few measures can be taken to maintain the energy level in our body. An evening *brisk* walk for half an hour is a panacea. Meditation for even 7 minutes regulates the brain.
  2. Dietary requirements: It is very important to eat food that meets our nutritional needs. Take for example: Lifting weights and eating pizzas “ sounds inconsistent?? The same goes for the mind, we all can't eradicate but we can have our cheat days to diminish at least.  Seasonal fruits and vegetables is all we can do at least to suffice our need. 
  3. Breaks in between:  Prolonged sitting hour leads to a feeling of boredom or stillness which disturbs our focus. So, it is suggested to use some study method rules like 40-20 rule and many more you can find. This helps you to maintain your flow and study much more in a concentrated way.
  • Even after incorporating all these you have to tackle “ elephant in the room, “How to deal with mock scores? Much anticipated but lesser talked about.

We are not robots by nature, we tend to tickle when we get lows or even in highs too. Imagine burning the midnight oil and still getting single-digit scores will scare anyone leading to self-doubt and many negative emotions but we need to understand what lies in the scores are our mistakes, which can be rectified to omit the mistakes we are committing. 

 
♢ LOW MARKS: Shut down your laptop, get some fresh air, talk to your companions again grab your notebook and start with a positive mindset and point out mistakes you made .

♢ GOOD PERCENTILE : Reward yourself, you may watch a good show or can have your favourite dessert whatever. This adds fuel to your prep. journey.
